Obit of the Day: No Longer InDigEnt

Gary Winick, who first came to the attention of movie goers with low-cost (relatively speaking, under $1 million), digital films with his InDigEnt (Independent Digital Entertainment) Film company. Films starring performers such as Sigourney Weaver, Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman, and Kyra Sedgwick. (For Winick’s full filmography, click here.

Winick gained a broader audience with his hit, 13 Going on 30, starring Jennifer Garner in a female version of Big. (Editorial note: OOTD saw the film and actually thought that it was good. Jennifer Garner was rather entertaining. Recommended.) He also directed the live-action version of Charlotte’s Web with Dakota Fanning as Fern.

Tragically Winick died at only 49 years old from brain cancer.

The video clip is from 13 Going on 30 and is really entertaining. Yes, that is Mark Ruffalo.

(The film is property of Columbia Pictures and Revolution Studios and found on www.youtube.com.)
