Obit of the Day: Mary Ann McMorrow and Debi Austen

Obit of the Day: Last Week’s Radio Appearance

From The Morning AMp:

Josh Eisenberg is proprietor and creator of ObitoftheDay.com, which writes about the lives of the recently deceased, from the obscure to the monumental. He joins us on the phone to discuss Mary Ann McMorrow, best known as the first female state Supreme Court justice in Illinois, and Debi Austen, made famous by the controversial 1996 California anti-smoking ad, “Voicebox.”

McMorrow said the day she was sworn in as Illinois Supreme Court Justice: “I am the 115th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Illinois. You will notice after I take off my robe that I am the only one of 114 Chief Justices that wears a skirt.”

You go, girl!
